Actually yes, lack of engagement is part of why that happens
parents are no longer engaged or involved in their kids schools. They have turned it over to the "professionals". As such, just like they do whenever they hire someone to do a job, they want them to do it. I'm not saying that is a good thing, but it's reality.
If parents become part of the system and part of the process. They won't have that "I pay you to do this" attitude. Will that work for all, of course not, there are poeple that no matter what will be terrible parents. But more parent engagement is a whole lot better than unions and govies raising our kids and deciding what is best for them.
