I am a Loudoun County resident with some limited insider info
on what is going on with our schools here, it really is a mess. The bad kids...troublemakers, mischievous delinquents, gang members...all know after last year they can pretty much do anything and not get expelled. I just found out that if kids are fighting, a teacher cannot break it up because they are not allowed to touch the students. If a kid gets into big trouble like rape, bringing weapons to school, threatening to kill teachers, they simply get transferred to another school. Individual accountability no longer is practiced in the schools. Kids get the entire semester to finish their assignments. Final exams were even eliminated a few years ago because it was too much stress on the students and it might lower their grades if they do poorly...which puts Loudoun students at a disadvantage in college applications. How does all this prepare a kid for the real world?
