Fair enough ...

I don't believe that there is a 'magic number'. I believe that the vaccines have helped us rapidly get to a point where COVID won't be a daily news update, much like the flu. Occasionally going forward we will have outbreaks, just like other viruses and this will likely go on for years. I do believe we are at a point where we don't need to have mask mandates, reduced indoor seating, crowd limits, etc - the treatments and therapeutics have come a long way in the past 18 months. Many of the new cases are of vaccinated people and are almost always very mild.

Also, if (generic) you have made the choice NOT to get a vaccine at this point, I'm not going out of my way to protect you. You took on that risk and it is no longer my problem. If you are elderly or otherwise vulnerable, you do whatever you feel comfortable with but the rest of the world needs to get back to normal ... the old one, not a new one. JMHO as always - enjoyed the back and forth.
