It's about certainty. The possible value of natural immunity is uncertain.


It's not being ignored, it's just not certain.
How do you determine natural immunity in an individual?
How do you verify the natural immunity in those claiming it? Is a mild case good enough? Is it good enough in 50% or 20% or 90%? How can we do a study to show that?
When can we answer those questions? How long will it take?
What do we do if we find out after all that work that it's not as good or for a lot of people it's not as good and we've simply wasted x months?

The vaccine on the other hand has very little uncertainty.
