His take on what happened is seen through his lens. Fuente likely sees the situation quite differently.

Every person on this board knew that Evans wasn't going to be drafted. Everyone knew it. He wasn't an NFL QB. We all knew it before there was any notion that Fuente said anything critical to a scout. So maybe -- just maybe -- Evans wants to blame Fuente for him not getting drafted when, in reality, he wasn't a draft-worthy player. Wouldn't it be easier for Evans' ego to believe his former coach cost him his shot rather than his lack of NFL-caliber talent?

It isn't a question of believing one of them or the other. It is about that two people interpret the same behavior quite differently. OHF basically said that coaches should always speak in glowing terms about their players. What if a player is uncoachable? Or has an attitude problem? Or doesn't work hard? Or has a noodle arm? Should the coach only talk in glowing terms? It would seem to me that coaches shouldn't go out of their way to harm a player's prospects but the context and the specifics sort of matter.

Was Fuente asked specific questions about Evans and he simply answered them as honestly as he could? Or did he just offer up a bunch of unsolicited criticisms? Those aren't the same thing.

I don't know what happened. But I imagine there are two very different perspectives and that doesn't mean anyone is lying.
