They'll always be at a competitive disadvantage, true

But they're all lightyears ahead of Kansas. And I wouldn't say there's too much disparity between the Academies and K State/texas Tech/Baylor/West Virginia/etc. Hell, Army gave OU just about everything we could handle when they came down to Norman a few years back. And they were damn close to taking down Michigan in 2019 and WVU last year. Will they be competing for Playoff spots (or even Conference Championships)? Probably not. But they're no worse than a lot of other programs out there (and all with national followings like BYU). And, to me, they're a lot more interesting. But as none of them will never actually be in the Big 12 anyway, I suppose the whole thing is moot.
