You look at team rankings and TV ratings and where ESPN is selecting and slotting its games. And you look at previous years and see what has changed; or not. And you depose ESPN on how it makes its selections to see if the actual selections bear that out.

I think the chances of them doing it are essentially zero.
The money has already changed hands between ESPN and conferences so when the games are shown, it's purely a money making exercise. So it should be all about the ratings, I have no issue with that. ESPN makes their money from selling ad time and advertisers want their products to get the most eyeballs. Why buy time on one channel when there is a better competing game elsewhere? And they certainly aren't going to leave a top game off of TV altogether. The conference would be free to sell that elsewhere.

You think Disney corporate is going to be happy with an ESPN executive trying to make sure they make less money?

Frankly, I'd love for ESPN to try that. The ACC's goal is to renegotiate its contract or be set free, not sue for damages. So the ask from a court/jury/arbitrator is a little easier and the evidence is objective and easy to obtain.
