This makes sense from an ESPN standpoint and is probably why we are doing

this Alliance. We certainly wouldn't want to piss off our media rights holder for the next 15 years.

ESPN needs a little coverage in the B1G and Pac12 regions if they don't win or want to bid on the Pac12 or B1G package in the upcoming years. But by having the ACC play 12-14 games against each of them and spreading them out during the season, ESPN will have 6 or 7 ACC home games against B1G and Pac12 teams that they can broadcast on ABC/ESPN or other ESPN channels.

That's the only reason I can see why ESPN would allow the ACC to get into an Alliance with the B1G and Pac12.

Now I fully expect the CFP to only be an 8-team 4+4 agreement once the current agreement ends, But the P4 will get their champions guaranteed access to the CFP. None of this top 6 highest ranked conference champ bs. It makes no sense for anyone but the SEC to support that type of agreement. The Pac12 and B1G have been left out of too many playoffs to not have their champion have automatic access with any type of expansion.
