In defense of the SEC.
Texas and Oklahoma as a tandem have a great deal of power. If they went to the SEC and said "we are leaving one way or another, and it will be the B1G, or even the Pac12 or ACC. But we are leaving the BigXII", how does the SEC turn that down? If the SEC doesn't take them, someone else will.
And while at first glance this is a rich-get-richer move (and it is that, of course), but it's also a defensive move by the SEC against the growth of their competitors.
I wish the SEC would have said NO. And I'm thinking just in terms adding them to add them, many SEC fans and schools are against this. But the conference feel like they have to take the deal. Like one observer said, "You don't say no to Texas."
