I don’t actually. In my lifetime, there’s been a hodgepodge collection.

There’s always been a Stanford in the Pac12, a NW in the B1G, a Vandy in the SEC, and state schools in the ACC.

I think the B1G did the most with its schools somewhat collectively working together academically. What is it? The CIC thing? They also valued AAU membership…till they didn’t.

But I’ve never seen all like minded academic institutions forming an Athletics conference in my lifetime.
