My only "whacky" electrical issue was the loss of 220

Neither my oven, nor my drier worked (I think it was the drier's heating element). Had it checked, but nothing seemed to be out of whack in the house. Contacted the local power company (Dominion), and they traced the issue out to my yard. When I had switched from oil to natural gas heat (actually a heat pump with natural gas "emergency" heat), the contractor had dug up my inground tank to cut it open and fill with sand. That was great, but they "nicked" the underground electrical cable. It wasn't enough to cut it, but they broke the insulation. The line corroded enough to reduce the flow of electricity to the house.

Dominion's repair fixed the issue.
