Woke up to a quarter of the house without electricity

Any thoughts on how I can figure this out? I checked the obvious, the circuit breaker showed no signs, but I flipped the breakers anyway. Checked the gcfi plugs and reset them. I even replaced one just in case it was faulty. Best I know the circuit runs from the basement, up an interior wall, to the ceiling, through a smoke detector, then a bedroom and two bathrooms.
