So, job search advice... serious and TIC is welcome...
I'm in the early stages of my job search and have understandably applied to more than one job. I've advanced to the second stage of the selection process for two jobs: one that pays about 40% to 50% more than I was making in Mexico and one that pays the same as I was making in Mexico. The higher paying job seems to be taking their time with everything, and I'm worried that the lower paying job may be moving a little more quickly. I fully accept that I may get no offers from either of these two jobs, but I'm trying to plan ahead. So, if I am lucky enough to get an offer from the lower paying job and then later get an offer from the higher paying job, what do I do?
A. Don't accept the lower paying job and hope that the higher paying job offers.
B. Accept the lower paying job because jobs are scarce and #Covidsux. Ditch them shortly there after if the higher paying job offers.
C. Accept the lower paying job (see B for reasons). Don't ditch them even though they're paying significantly less than the higher paying job. Give them time to grow me an an employee or find something better later on down the road. #Loyaltyaboveallelse
D. Drink Heavily and other.
Full disclosure, I'd have a hard time with C. That's a lot of money to say no to. With A, that seems kind of arrogant and I'd be counting my chickens before any eggs are even laid.
I don't necessarily life or death need to work right now, but I will at some point. I don't want to be a freeloader for any longer than I have to. Doing odd jobs around my dad's house doesn't feel like I'm doing enough to justify living here rent free.
