Daughter in Cincinnati had similar experience...

She made offers on 6 houses before having her offer accepted (closing is set for early July).

The pattern had been:
- a house goes on the market
- first day on the market, 30-40 showings would happen, pretty much nonstop 7am-9pm.
- Seller would accept offers for 48 hrs and then pick one. Feedback was that sellers were consistently getting 6-10 offers to choose from.
- daughter was offering 8-10% over asking price, with pre approved loan and 20% down, and not getting them.

It was quite discouraging - very glad she finally got one.
