My leak occurred in the line at the output of the hot water heater.


It split apparently due to the continuous flexing of the pipe due to the hot water and subsequent cooling. As ColoVT stated below, he had his replaced under a recall. I could have done the same if I had been savvy enough at the time. It all seemed to be OK then. My bad.
