Been pretty impressed with MCPS so far...


I have a 2nd grader and I am currently furloughed. He gets a packet every couple of weeks, their is some online work in addition to the packet. At first I was extremely overwhelmed with the amount of stuff that was required/websites/logins, but parsing through it has been okay. I have been able to provide some structure to his day with a lesson plan and MY day (hey, don't get to start drinking at 9am!)...so this has been quite a blessing.
I cannot imagine filling the day with SOMETHING other than screen time without a plan. Parks are closed, etc. I even kind of enjoy learning a bit all over again. It puts me in his world at school, and I kind of get an extra challenge of taking the work provided and coming up with a lesson plan myself. Definitely different. I am learning a lot about myself and my child too.
