I've had a seat clamp bolt (clamps seat to seat post) break on me, but

fortunately I was only a mile from home, so no big deal.

I went tubeless on my mountain bike a few years ago, and been maintaining them since. Just need to crack the tire/rim seal every couple of months or so and add some more sealant. Or get a valve tool and one of those injectors and squirt it in through the valve stem. If you're setting it up for the first time, you pretty much need a compressor to pop the tire onto the rim, but you can re-seal one with just a tire pump. IIRC, there's several you tube videos out there.

Sorry your ride got shortened.
