a combination of several things you mentioned. We have to keep mind 12 freshman are the roster, so youth plays a factor. Sung did a good job of coaching up all of the players last year while getting some young talent involved. We need more players like Petty who can create offense and be a threat from anywhere.

Recruiting misses happen and may be playing a part as well. I was surprised by one of the players Sung recruited. This player was a good player in high school, but never really stood out when my daughter played against her. Sung looked at several players on my daughter's team. One opted to go to another D1 top 20 program. The other Sung passed on. The one he passed on was a possible miss and she signed with another D1 program. Recruiting is a tough game. Can't get it right all the time.
