ND is at a serious disadvantage not being in a conference...


ND pretty much has to go undefeated to make the playoffs. If there is a 1-loss teams from any of the power 5's, especially if they win their conference, then they will most likely be chosen ahead of ND.

Take this year for example. Had ND had one loss, they would be behind all other 1 loss teams from the power 5... possibly even behind Georgia with 2 losses.
