UT academics inferior to Tech's. Few years ago knew a kid who

just could not cut it in the College of Engineering at Tech. Struggling to get D's. Transferred to UT and got A's in engineering.
Another sad story. My best friend's brother taught English at UT. He came home one holiday weekend to spend time with his mother and sister. His mother was teaching 4th grade at the time. My best friend walked into the house and saw a stack of papers on the counter. She read a couple and said, "Mom, these aren't too bad for 4th graders, but they have a little ways to go by the end of the year." Her brother said, "Those are the essays written by my UT football players." Ha!
