At the end of the day there are only a few things it personal finance that you "shouldn't do". The rest is personal preference and tolerance for risk.

That's why I don't give advice, when asked I just answer "this is what I did, and why"

I do think that some people don't see things from different angles which is why I asked you the question

I faced the same dilemma several years ago. I had enough invested and no cash needs. So if I didn't pay down the mortgage it would have just gone into a mutual fund portfolio, which in my mind was the same as borrowing to invest.
