Keep in mind that you have to adjust your savings from the mortgage


on paying more fed and state taxes most likely as the mortgage interest is usually your largest itemized deduction. I would love to pay off mine though but I have about 16 years left on our 30 year mortgage and I will make extra principal payments along the way the next 16 years to try and pay it off faster but life is unpredictable. The only way to do it is to pay extra principal or come into some extra money along the way, and don't spend money outside of necessities.
