But Texas Tech also brings neither

Texas Tech would be the weakest expansion candidate in the Big 12 but for the possibility that Texas might be compelled to drag along a fellow state school.

After the ACC admitted Louisville, the whole academic thing went out the door anyway, IMHO.

I have a lot of respect for Iowa State, but its location is really problematic. It is really only a fit for the Big Ten, but the Big Ten has so many more options before taking a second school from Iowa. The Cyclones have great fans and some great programs, and its football is way better than most people think, notwithstanding the record. ISU has just never gotten over the hump the way K State has from time to time.
