I'm convinced they're not...at least not the 2nd, 3rd & 4th rivalries.

Maybe one rivalry per team is worthwhile and real. But college football hasn't been harmed one bit by the loss of fake rivalries like VT-WVU or Michigan-ND.

I'd much rather see Virginia Tech play a different, interesting home and home with say Ohio State than play, say, WVU every year.
