You can first grasp comprehension and acknowledge that nowhere did I attack the athletes. You use the same canned hollow rhetoric you saw in some SI column or twitter post without even relating it to what I stated. So follow along...The athletes can't be blamed one bit. If there is money to legally be made then make it. DUH!
However that doesn't mean your new world order is always for the good and "get with the times" covers all bases. There is almost no one who values college football who agrees that unregulated NIL and free agency is a positive thing. Maybe you need to study up on the ramifications of that over history. There are two tiny niches who should support this wild west NIL and getting with the times: 1) the players and their families/friends/handlers who are in a position to benefit. 2) the handful of schools whose resources and boosters can overpower the competition to win this arms race. And no its not like building a nice dorm or locker room. That stuff helps but this is direct purchasing of players with no cap. Again can't blame the players.
Even Nick Saban sees this as out of control and a recipe for disaster. Think about that.
I'm king of the capitalists but what the "anything goes" crowd doesn't grasp is that not everything in life has to be open capitalism. No one is holding a gun to anyone's head to play an amateur sport. If its not a fair deal, then do something else. Train for pros on your own. Get a job.like you instructed me to.
Whats really bizarre is how a VT fan believes this is a good thing for our ability to compete and the health of the game overall. Explain how VT and about 100 other schools will compete and whether thats a good thing for a league
