If the rule is you are out if your foot comes in contact with the chalk


then there are MANY hitters who would be called out. Umpires are not looking for it on a regular swing however. Only slappers. Agreed that they need to be on the same page but it simply won't happen. Also, if you have slappers, players are taught to erase the batter's box lines as the game goes on to make that call much more difficult. Game within the game...
