The polling draws an interesting parallel to the propaganda war ongoing
I suspect if you asked two weeks ago, should the US use troops to prevent the Russians from taking over Ukraine, the answer would have been 75-85% against. Probably similar in most any NATO country.
It feels like one of the goals of the Ukraine propaganda is to establish a narrative that things are going well and if you commit troops we can win and it won't be that bloody, if we can do it with retired boxers and beauty queens, your troops will destroy them. Couple that with stories of the atrocities by the Russians to tug at the heart strings. Influence public opinion. Think back to how we got dragged into Somalia, some stick figure supermodel showing pictures of starving children and getting the world behind one of the dumbest uses of military power in history.
