Tend to agree, but it seemed we learned nothing from Vietnam .....
1) Once history is written, I do believe stopping air support will factor in along with those things everyone says.
2) The one thing I was surprise at if true, the Afghans were fighting no battles solely with their troops and under their commanders.
3) Corruption. Many in the Afghan army were in it because it was a good job and they were not getting paid consistently. They were in it for the money, not an ideology.
4) Covid slowed down the process of vetting Afghans to get them out of there.
I was not surprised at the withdrawal disaster when it happened. I just rewatch the movie "The Hornet's Nest" and it ends with saying the troops will be out by end of 2014. Well, why did it take 7 more years.
In the end when history is written, I think their will be plenty of blame outside the actual withdrawal.
