I would have no objections if the conferences decided to go back to that


format especially now that more teams are starting to play games in Week 0. I get that conferences are worried that if a team has a bye before playing in the CCG, then it may have an unfair competitive advantage. If that assumption/theory is true, then where is the data to support it? I don't think there have been any formal studies done for the college game. It is possible that the conferences are basing it on random data collected from NFL games which may not even be valid other than to just support the desire narrative.
