Valid point and that is probably true. 2005-06 was her best year at VT
when she went 21-10. She went 19-15 in 2006-07, then it was a heartbeat her final 4 years.
2004-05: 17-12
2005-06: 21-10
2006-07: 19-15
2007-08: 15-15
2008-09: 12-18
2009-10: 15-15
2010-11: 11-19
It appears that VT's "rock bottom" may have been Wolff's first season (2011-12) with Beth's players when the team went 7-23. We will never know how the team would have done if Beth had coached that year. It is possible those players were either "bad," didn't "fit" Wolff's system, or some sort of combination of the two. Now Wolff's team did steadily improve the next 2 years, but for some reason the 2014-15 team took a step back.
2011-12: 7-23
2012-13: 10-20
2013-14: 14-16
2014-15: 12-20
2015-16: 18-14 (WNIT)
Likewise, we will never know what would have happened if Wolff had remained the coach after the 2015-16 season. Did he have the team on the "right" path or was that season a fluke? Personally, I don't have a problem with the coaching change. I got to meet Kenny a couple times when he was in HS and as a player at JMU through my grandmother who worked at JMU back then, so I was happy with the hire.
