All the reasons you gave have nothing to do with the officiating


In all sincerity, it sounds like a miserable job. Don't envy them. That would explain why they are always so cranky. My uncle from PA was a Big East football ref. He would fall into the same category. Hated Beamer and had no problem telling me. Can't imagine he would let that influence his whistle.
