In the key last 3 minutes of games, our guys can't get it done most of the

time. Our guys are tired. That points to inability to keep the starters fresh by making substitutions during the game. Now if MY has found that the only way we can stay close or ahead is by playing those 5 starters, then we have a short bench problem. Which is still a MY problem.

I am thrilled with MY. I think any men's basketball coach at VT is at a disadvantage just based on not being near a big city. Not every basketball recruit wants to go to a rural area for 4-5 years. But I think MY is our best bet for keeping players on the team for 4-5 years which is our only chance of fielding an elite team every once in a while.

Unfortunately, this is supposed to be one of those years. With 1 Gr, 2 Sr and 2 Jr in the starting 5, we are supposed to competing for an NCAA tournament bid this year. It's not too late but at 2-6 in the ACC chances are really thin.
