You mean there are people out there that put the "kids" first? I'm shocked!
Great article and many of the great points that many of us have been making here since the June proposal was introduced.
We are all for expansion, but let's do it the right way and figure out how to do it without adding games and no practices until after the finals are done. It's better for the kids to go a little later in January than it is to have playoff practices before finals. You can do this if Conference Championships matter or they remove them and have the elite play New Years Day or New Years Eve.
I love the point about the money, take the long win on this and not the short win. Almost every other playoff in big time sports has multiple channels broadcasting the playoffs. Look at the NFL playoffs.
By the way, something my father told me repeatedly, when it comes to money, you never, ever, ever have enough, so while it is important, don't make it the most important thing. There are plenty of miserable rich people. In fact I know a lot of them, they always have to have the high from the next thing and never value what they already have, until maybe it's gone. So make sure the money is there to make it sustainable, but don't make it the most important thing.
That's how i see the decisions should be made on the new infrastructure of the NCAA Divisions and eventually how the expansion should be handled. Bottom like put the "kids" first and then the money will come!
This article gives me some hope on that and I am proud that the ACC is leading the carrying of that banner!! Keep doing what you are doing Jim Phillips!!
Put the "kids" first in these decisions!!
