If the bylaws are changed and the divisions are eliminated

then I guess the Sun Belt could go that route. I have a feeling though that the Sun Belt will probably stick with the divisions because it makes it easier to build regional rivalries. In theory, the 7 East teams could all have a rivalry and the 7 West teams could all have a rivalry. By eliminating the divisions, then it could be tougher for the Sun Belt to maximize the potential rivalries because the number of teams a team could play on an annual basis would be reduced down to 3 or 4 to allow for an increase in the frequency of games played against the other members.
