OK dachshund owners, request feedback


My wife had a dachshund before we met and she has always wanted to get another one she loves the breed.

Growing up, my best friend’s family had one and I couldn’t stand the thing. Was really aggressive toward me (and quite frankly anyone but the family.) But I wonder if that’s because of how they raised the thing.

I have heard they are not great with kids and we have a 5 and 3 year old. We also have a fair amount of stairs either up to the bedroom or to go outside which I would not think that would be a great setup for this breed.

I’ve been adamant about not getting one but I’m wavering. How has you learned experience been and what should I be considering?
