The fans were told it was lack of money holding Fu back from better coaching. $20M is the kind of money that, once you make, you never have to work again. The assistant coaches are the ones that I hurt for the most. The Jack Tylers, Justin Hamiltons and JC Prices. They were emotionally invested in their alma mater and had to see the ugly side of the VT fan base. They deserved 6 years of patience from VT and they won't get it. Some like JHam will have to live with their first DC position being a failure. That might be tough to overcome. We may never get these guys back at VT and I think long-term that's our best strategy.

Back to your post, VT fans were asked to support this staff and program for "one last dance" and they showed up and rocked Lane Stadium. I don't know how the fans could be more forgiving for the past six years.

Whit on the other hand, grossly mismanaged this and really allowed this to get nasty. Having multiple drive for $25 campaigns and then mocking those people for not donating enough. That was incredibly unkind. Everyone needs to be more kind. The AD, the coaching staff, and fans.
