VaTech fans have continued to show up and support this program despite it being obvious this staff was in over their head for years now. I think part of that is due to Fu’s likability as a human.

Most P5 programs would have seen fans attacking the coaches long ago given the level of underachievement demonstrated by Fu. Whit really made this get to a boiling point that could have been avoided by not moving earlier when it was clear that Fu was failing so I think some level of frustration is going to happen now. The fact that it took this long for “fire fu” chants to emerge speaks to the very long rope fans have given Fu.
