Has there been any evidence or history of our fans doing or saying insensitive or mean spirited things about Coach Fuente’s family (not counting the Fire Fuente chant at the end of the game, which was a really bad look). I would certainly hope not, but I know that there are idiots everywhere. If CJF is let go, I’m sure it will be very hard on his family. While nowhere near the same in most aspects, being a college coach with a family is kind of similar to being a Methodist minister with a family. They move their pastors around on average every 4-6 years (it can vary though). I know for a fact it is very hard on the children.

One other thing to ponder. I know many of us fans and message board warriors are lamenting how players like Hooker and Patterson have gone to another school and are thriving. What will we say if CJF goes to another school and has tremendous success? I’m not saying that will happen, but if it does, then maybe VT has a program/administration problem and not a coaching problem. Having said all that, I do not think VT’s program will get any better with Coach Fuente and a change is warranted. Just my 2 cents worth.
