while not necessarily tv market friendly, a talahassee to pittsburgh league including the non private ACC schools in that region and WVU would be a great 10 team break away league IMO...

FSU, GT, Clemson, UNC, NCSU, VT, uva, WVU, Pitt, L'ville

that's a league without a lot of football snoozers and some solid bball, and once established, could look for expansion candidates to get to 12 later. play 9 game round robin and host CG like the Big12 has been until the right 2 teams present themselves to split into divisions.

Or just take Miami and Duke for their brand and call it a day.
