Instead we are getting some expansion and decent repairing of the FBS landscape. After this, we might not have any teams that are on life support or limbo.

JMU will probably move up. UConn, UMass, and NM State will probably get an invite from the CUSA left overs. Liberty will probably settle in as valued independent, playing an attractive schedule (they already were on that path, I think). If there are any FCS teams interested in moving up in the next few years, CUSA might just be very easy to join, NC A&T and Kennesaw State have looked into moving up recently. Sam Houston State might be interested, too. Maybe they will join the CUSA along with some others.
