If the Sun Belt lands all of its targets, C-USA might be toast

A lot of chatter that Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee might have other options that will pull them out of C-USA. Whether that's true or not, the loss of the six known schools is a real blow to the long-term viability of the conference. The remaining schools are all now geographically stranded to a large extent.

Only obvious fix is to grab some schools from "lower" conferences or effect an outright merger of some kind with the Atlantic Sun Conference.

Maybe it's a coincidence that ESPN has strong ties to the Sun Belt. And maybe it's not.
