The question is, is the buyout really that much?


There is an opportunity cost associated with fielding a losing team. If ticket sales and donations drop because of the on-field performance, those revenue dollars are lost. The longer we go, the greater that opportunity cost becomes.

Does it cost more to keep him around, or does it effectively cost less by pulling the trigger and bringing people back on board via ticket sales and donations?
