I think it has to do with expectations (real or not) and perception.

In the last several weeks several higher rated prospects committed elsewhere. Several of those it appeared that VT had a chance with. How real of a chance it was, I can't say. There was hope that MY has now shown he can coach at an ACC school, maybe it would translate into higher rated recruits. I don't disagree with you and also trust MY. Its obvious he knows basketball, but meanwhile I look at UVA with 4 recruits in the top 100. We have 2 near number 200. From a pure athletic it looks to me that we would be starting from behind. Once again, not saying these guys won't catch up or MY saw something others didn't, or they fit his system, just explaining what people "see" and what they were hopeful of.
