to make a realistic case for TV. Gates, at least at neutral sites, have already been discounted. Opponents get paid regardless of whether they are a buy game, either in cash and/or reciprocal home games, so the savings you tout from buy games is not entirely there and that is even before discussing the actual reality of your $1MM to $2MM estimate. Can you explain how you believe they will "control the playoff structure"? I would love to see how it would realistically work because as the NFL shows parity and competition is far more preferable to a one or two team dog and pony show, however, I do not see it yet. More importantly, the people who actually make these decisions have actual knowledge of the numbers so you know they will be looking for hard numbers as to why it would work. The final item, which really has not been addressed yet anywhere that I have seen, is the actual financial capacities of Disney/ABC/ESPN and FOX to make things work.
