Interesting take. I don't see a convincing win by either team. I think whichever team wins, it will be by less than a touchdown. Vegas thinks that too, btw.

Barno is a good--maybe even great--player. No question he'll be a problem for us. I think the jury is very much out on how good Jordan Williams will be. Dax is Dax, which is either maddening or thrilling, depending on which Dax shows up. My guess is that he has this game circled, and the thrilling Dax will show up.

This is a year when UNC needs to beat the teams we're supposed to beat if we want to show that we're making progress, which is a really hard thing to do when the media and the polls say you're favored in 10 or maybe 11 of your games. Winning 10/11 games is much harder to do than the average college football fan thinks who just looks at the rankings. When "winning all the games you're supposed to win" means 10/11 wins, I think you've got to have way more talent than the other teams on your schedule, and I don't think we have way more talent than anyone on our schedule except for dook, Georgia State, Wofford, and Wake Forest.

The reason I don't think this game will be a blowout by either VT or UNC is because it's not sneaking up on either team the way the FSU game snuck up on UNC last year. As the opener, we're very much paying attention to it. I think the Heels will win, but by three or four points, and I'd be happy with a one-point win given how much trouble we've had in Blacksburg over the years.
