The other side’s insurance company is not your friend. Their strategy is to jerk you around forever when their insured is at fault with the hope you will either walk away or take a pittance. And $1000 is a pittance, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they try to get off the hook for just a fraction of that.

I used to not like plaintiff’s lawyers. But after getting the insurance company run-around myself for damn near a year over a $1400 accident that their insured caused, I’ll root for the plaintiff’s lawyers every time.
