Q for any Holiday Inn Express attorneys here re. car insurance claim

My daughter's car got hit by a semi last week. She is uninjured, and the car sustained incredibly minor damage given what hit it. The repair estimate is $1000 (which I honestly thought that was even a bit high).

I just got a call from the insurance carrier for the semi asking for a verbal statement / description of the events of the crash.

Is this a reasonable request, or should alarm bells be going off in my head that this is some veiled attempt to use the befuddled words of a 16yo to wiggle out of their liability?

I'm torn between "sure, no problem, whatever it takes to speed this up" and "no forking way, just read the police report, it's all in there."

  I wouldn’t give them a statement. Your insurer? Yes. -- GreenvilleVT 08/06/2021 9:41PM
