This round of expansion is about the big names.


Not the schools you mentioned. We are talking about the cache names that have real power. Texas, Oklahoma, USC, Notre Dame. And even solidifying the positions of schools in "safe" conferences like Ohio State, Michigan and Alabama.

And there is no race to 16 teams. Nothing magic about a 16 team conference. It's about value per school.
