You can cherry pick whatever stats you wish to make ND fit your dream but, your inability to address the real realities and inconvenient truths of ND for the last thirty years pretty much cut your arguments off at the knees before you ever get started. You cannot point to a single statement where I have said ND did not have a good program but, I have said ND is living off more mystique than reality. You are correct that they got two playoff berths. Did they get them because they were ND or did they get them because they went on to validate their selection either time with their actual playoff performance? Over the last thirty years how many times has ND actually validated their selections with their actual performance in the game they were selected to? Let me say it again to be clear, ND is a good program, maybe even Top 10 but, we are not talking about being a good program. The debate is the myth versus the reality of ND. You have the myth part, or maybe more aptly described former mystique, down pat, reality not so much. I would expect every ND fan or the substantial majority, particularly the old guard to wholeheartedly agree with you, however, I would expect the majority of the rest of the college football world has a view much closer to mine of ND than yours. So yes, I believed every word I typed.
