Two things in particular

I think living life without a credit card is a bad idea. Credit cards offer VASTLY superior consumer protections (by law) vs. debit cards, and there are a few things you just can't do with a debit card. Yes, he recently got sponsored by Dollar so you can rent a car there with a debit card, but that's the only one. When I took the Dave Ramsey course, one person in class had their car break down two days after cutting up their credit cards in class. Took them six hours to rent a car without a credit card.

And no, no one is getting rich on credit card rewards. But I get to buy a $500ish toy for my workshop every year with credit card rewards. He pretends like people think credit card rewards are the path to wealth. They aren't. But you can get some cool goodies with them. And since I've paid my credit card balances in full every time, without fail, for about 35 years now, he can suck it with his stance that it is impossible to use credit responsibly.

Also, living life without a credit score is a bad idea. When you are wealthy like he is, you can hand-wave the lack of a credit score and proclaim it other people's problem. But not having one can affect your ability to rent, your insurance rates, possibly you ability to get a job, and severely limits your options if you do need to get a mortgage.

Again, most of his advice is great. Have a budget, live below your means, avoid debt, save and invest, and be generous with what's left over. All awesome concepts. Plus, his commentary that financial problems are behavior problems and not math problems is spot on.

But you can do all that and still use a credit card responsibly.
